Toddler Takeover
Toddler Takeover
Museum of London Docklands
Under 5s
20 - 21 May
Thursday 11 May 2017

Something strange but wonderful is happening at the Museum of London Docklands. Those under-fives are rising to the top and ruling the roost for a day! It’s all about the toddlers as everyone prepares to take part in the Toddler takeover free family festival, part of Takeover Day, a celebration organised by the charity Kids in Museums to applaud children’s contributions to museums.

With interactive workshops, exciting performances and crafty activities, expect a day bursting with creativity. The best thing about this festival though is that it has been created for families by families, the local community having a say in the programme…and it’s all free too!

From storytelling picnics to movement sea-mphonies to Rise and Shine yoga, hour on hour there is something to engage and grab your little ones attention. Movers and shakers can get into the rhythm in a baby ballet class, and also enjoy performances by the brilliant Ruggieri Dance Academy and BabyJazz. Not just catering to the tots, parents can get involved with an oral history project about parenting and childcare in East London in Holding the Baby.

All this and more, sing, tell stories, and most importantly, share an experience with the whole family. The Museum of London Docklands’ Toddler takeover is set to be a joy filled day and hopefully there will be many more takeovers in the future. We’ll see you there!
